App Review: Achievemint

6/3/2018 Edit: Achievement has removed it's referral program, but I still use it. So I have edited this entry to reflect this.

If you walk often, are interested in walking more or are already into an active lifestyle, and want to be paid for your healthy choices, Achievement could be the app for you to look into.

Achievement is an app powered by Evidation Health, that rewards you with points for healthy actives you log in other apps as well as social media activity. Walking, biking, swimming running; if you log it somehow, Achievement will count it and reward you for it. The app connects to whatever health app you use and imports up to a month of prior data into the app and rewards you for it.

You can earn up to 80 points a day for your activity, but unless you are seriously active, you won't come near this number. My highest reward was 39 pts for about 7 miles of walking in a day. The reward values for activities are not clearly listed, but in my own experience with appears to be  more or less 3 pts per 900 steps (I calculated an average 365 steps = 1 pt). You can also earn 6 pts a day for logging meals, sleep or posting on social media with the app and varying bonus point activities which seem to range between 10 pts and 100 pts.

This app is not for someone who is looking to make a quick buck, but when you consider that the iPhone already has a built in pedometer, it's highly worth adding an app that rewards you for something you do every day already.

I have not cashed out with Achievement yet, but I have seen it is possible and thus I am hopeful! I really love that I don't have to do anything but walk -- and I already do that at work. Achievement automatically pulls in my days data from iHealth and when I feel it's a bit too slow, I can always manually pull the data in. And what the hell, I'll get my ass moving for money any day.

Beermoney Balances Extension by /u/skorulis

/u/skorulis over on Reddit has created an utterly awesome Chrome extension which tracks your beermoney balances across various websites all from one extension! The extension updates in real-time on its own and includes a graph to track your earnings over time. You can even set the extension to get you a notif if an account balance stops updating after a certain amount of time.

The website for the extension is here and the reddit post is here. Go give /u/skorulis a thumbs up and if you have a website you'd like added to the extension leave a comment or send a message!

App Review: Rabadaba [iOS + Android]

Update 7/7/2017: Earning on this app was slow, somewhat tedious and in general more than I really wanted to do. I deleted the app but I do believe others are still earning with it.

Rabadaba is an iOS / Android social media app that pays its users to post content that gets popular. It is similar in layout to InstaGram (but with the ability to make more than just image posts) so if you find that app easy to navigate and enjoy it, you may like Rabadaba.

Rabadaba lets its users earn things called rabs, where 1 rab = $0.0001, or $1.00 = 10,000 rabs. Paypal was removed sometime ago, and I'm unsure what they replaced the cash-out option with. You earn rabs through updabbing (upvoting) other users content, getting users to updab / redab your content and earning tips from users who enjoy what you post. Many users (and the Rabadaba admins) post their own giveaways and tip contests frequently, which can be great earners if you win.

There is currently no referral system in place at the moment (12/28/2015) which is unfortunate, but hopefully will be changed soon.

It is not a particularly fast earner (unless you are posting very popular content) but I enjoy just browsing and occasionally posting when I have new things to upload. I have not cashed out on this app yet (I'm sitting at around 11k rabs because I'm lazy) but payment proofs by other users are posted regularly!

My username is @spffn if you'd like to follow me! You can download Rabadaba from its website here.

VidFall: Quick Guide

11/05/2016: VidFall just looks like no one has touched it in months and is broken. I will leave this up in case it comes back, but I'm not hopeful.

VidFall is a relatively new and interesting website, that is less beermoney earning and more beermoney saving. By watching ads and partnered users streams, VidFall allows users to buy items like video games, gift cards and even electronics at potentially deep discounts! Each ad also earns you VF Rewards, which can be applied to items for even deeper discounts.
